The Opportunity:
We are looking for a motivated Assistant Accountant to join our Accounting & Tax Compliance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and early-career professionals to develop their technical accounting and tax knowledge while working with a broad range of corporate clients across different industries.
As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the delivery of high-quality accounting and compliance services, working closely with experienced professionals in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining accounting records and performing bookkeeping activities for corporate clients.
- Record accounting transactions and support the preparation of monthly accounting reconciliations.
- Participate in the preparation and submission of VAT returns and other tax compliance obligations.
- Assist in the preparation of payroll-related reporting and statutory filings.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor and reconcile accounts, including bank, supplier, and customer balances.
- Communicate with clients to collect accounting information and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal procedures.
- Stay informed about developments in accounting and tax legislation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Up to 2 years of relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or tax compliance.
- Basic understanding of Greek accounting and tax regulations.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Epsilon Net, SoftOne, Entersoft, or similar) will be considered an asset.
- Good command of both Greek and English, written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally in a fast-paced environment.
