We are seeking a passionate and skilled Junior Sous Chef – Commissary to join our culinary team at Conrad Athens The Ilisian. In this role, you will support kitchen operations by preparing high-quality ingredients and ensuring efficiency across all outlets, helping maintain the high standards our guests expect.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and pre-assemble ingredients for daily menu items in accordance with recipes, hotel standards, and timelines.
  • Manage food supplies, including stock control, proper storage, portioning, and organization of ingredients for all departments.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other chefs to ensure that all culinary operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Monitor inventory levels, ensuring freshness, minimizing waste, and maintaining consistent quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage practices and strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Contribute to menu development by suggesting seasonal ingredients and assisting in sourcing local products.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and high-quality deliveries.
  • Monitor food costs, labor costs, and other overheads to support kitchen efficiency and profitability.
  • Participate in tasting sessions and provide feedback on flavor, consistency, and presentation.

Απαραίτητα Προσόντα

Requirements

  • Formal education in culinary arts, gastronomy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position within a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Strong culinary techniques and knowledge of food preparation, presentation, food safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of culinary professionals.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Passion for food with a creative flair for menu development and presentation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions and work well within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of cost control and inventory management.
  • Fluency in Greek and English is required; additional languages are a plus.
