Job Summary
The Sous Chef supports the Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality Italian cuisine is consistently prepared and presented. This role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of traditional and modern Italian cooking, and the ability to maintain excellence in a fast-paced bistro environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Chef in daily kitchen operations and service execution
- Prepare and oversee authentic Italian dishes, ensuring consistency, flavor, and presentation
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and disciplined team environment
- Ensure proper food handling, hygiene, and safety standards are maintained at all times
- Step in as acting Chef when required
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen stations
Requirements
- Knowledge of Italian culinary techniques, ingredients, and traditions
- Leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume service
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Understanding of food safety regulations (HACCP)
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
