Περιγραφή

Reports to: Senior Accommodation Supervisor, Agia Eleni

Purpose/objective of the position:
Main responsible for the implementation of the accommodation strategy of INTERSOS in Greece across its’ accommodation spaces. As a technical expert in the WASH and SHELTER Officer is the person responsible for both ensuring international and national standards in relation to the two macro areas are respected across the whole of the scheme.

Programme Quality and Specific tasks
In strict coordination with the senior accommodation supervisor, he/she manages the follow up and support of the project work connected with Agia Eleni and the accommodation program in light of construction, maintenance and repair.

He/she cares about relations, pertaining to project activities, with suppliers, contractors, providers of services and particularly with logistics staff.

He/she is responsible for the Supervision of all WASH and SHELTER maintenance activities and the staff that implements it.

He is responsible for the supervision of the general Hygiene of the accommodation center

He/She is responsible for the Supervision of externally contracted staff operating under WASH and SHELTER banner

He/She must contribute to information dissemination on use and maintenance of WASH and SHELTER structures

He/She is a co-responsible for ensuring that all accommodation is aligned with safety and security recommendations and standards and that all necessary signage, information and training is provided to PoCs hosted in INTERSOS accommodation

He/She will also under the banner of WASH follow up on HP activities in collaboration with accommodation supervisors/Hygiene Promoters.

Monitoring and Reporting
Provide regular progress reports to the senior accommodation supervisor, PO, Logistics Coordinator, Head of Mission and other focal points where required

To provide on bi/weekly basis the updated requirements to the senior accommodation supervisor, PO and Logistics Coordinator

Finance and Administration
Comply with all established procedures for financial management
Plan the spending framework for WASH/Shelter related budget and submit to the Project Manager.
Ensure the budget dedicated is spent adequately and in a timely manner
Ensure WASH/Shelter staff follows administration procedures. Operate within budget lines assigned to the specific endeavour.

Human Resources and Personnel Management
Ensure the creation and maintaining of respectful and positive working relationships, which allow for the effective implementation of all activities.
Manage staff operating within the WASH/Shelter team in Ioannina
Ensure reporting mechanisms are followed by the managed staff
Contribute to the selection of WASH/Shelter/HP team staff
Regularly provide feedback and review performance of aforementioned staff
Ensure smooth communication is established and maintain within the team and with other supporting entities.

Logistics and Procurement
Ensure that the WASH/Shelter/HP team follows procurement processes in the execution of tasks.
Collaborate closely with the logistics team for any support required by the latter e.g. fleet use

External Relations
Maintain relations with relevant authorities
Oversee the maintaining of day to day relations with the contracted service providers

Other
Perform other tasks and duties as required in order to ensure a correct implementation of project activities

Reporting Requirements
As per main duties outlined above the WASH and Shelter Officer is responsible for:

Reports to Project Manager and Head of Mission with agreed frequency
Coordinate bi/Weekly WASH/Shelter Meetings
Attend Internal Coordination Meetings
Attend General Coordination Meetings
Log and track data storage as agreed
Provide Operational reports as necessary
Provide incident/security reports as necessary

As per required the WASH and Shelter Officer should be copied in relation to:
- General Team issues
- Coordination Issues
- Planning matters
- Human resource matters for team – staff leave, absence, illness, other business.
- Relevant Protection issues

Απαραίτητα Προσόντα

Skills & Education

- Degree in Engineering
- Relevant Master’s degree will be considered an asset
- Proven technical experience
- Past experience in the Greek humanitarian context will be highly valued
- Native Greek speaker, Fluent in English in both written and verbal
