Role Overview
Aria Hotels is seeking a Mid-Level Civil Engineer to join its Technical Department at the Athens HQ in Glyfada. The role focuses on Health & Safety (H&S), maintenance oversight, and renovation project support across the hotel portfolio. The position requires regular on-site inspections, coordination with external consultants and contractors, and active involvement in budget monitoring and technical reporting.
The role is hands-on and operational, supporting ongoing projects and asset maintenance while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and cost standards. Frequent travel is an essential requirement.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety (H&S)
- Support the implementation and monitoring of H&S policies and procedures across all project sites.
- Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments in collaboration with senior technical staff.
- Review contractor H&S documentation (RAMS, permits to work, method statements).
- Report safety observations, incidents, and non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and Aria Hotels’ internal standards.
Maintenance & Technical Inspections
- Carry out regular site inspections to assess building condition and maintenance needs.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance planning across hotel properties.
- Identify technical issues, defects, and risks, and propose practical solutions.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports, condition assessments, and recommendations.
Renovation & Capital Projects
- Support renovation and refurbishment projects during design development and execution stages.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors during site works.
- Monitor construction progress, workmanship quality, and compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Participate in snagging, handover processes, and close-out documentation.
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of maintenance and CAPEX budgets.
- Track project costs, variations, and forecasts in coordination with the Technical Manager.
- Support tendering processes, including scope preparation, bid evaluation, and contractor selection.
Coordination & Reporting
- Act as a technical liaison between HQ and hotel operations teams.
- Coordinate external contractors and suppliers as part of the Technical Department.
- Prepare regular progress updates, site visit reports, and technical documentation for management review.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s & Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction, renovations, maintenance, or hospitality projects.
- Exposure to H&S practices on active construction or renovation sites.
- Experience supporting budgeting, cost tracking, and contractor coordination.
Technical Skills
- Good understanding of building construction, structural works, finishes, and refurbishment processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
- Proficiency in MS Office
- AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage.

- Strong organizational and analytical skills.

- Clear communication and reporting skills.
- Willingness to be hands-on and proactive on site.
Languages & Mobility
- Fluent Greek and English (Spanish is a plus).
