Process Safety Engineer

Ergonomia SA, since 1992, specializes in the Prevention and Control of Occupational and Industrial Safety Risk and on Risk Management, aiming at the establishment of a safe, pleasant and productive workplace.
Ergonomia is looking for an experienced and self motivated Process Safety Engineer to join the interdisciplinary team of engineers of the Industrial Safety Department.

Main duties and responsibilities:
• Provide consultancy in the field of Process Safety to Industries, such as Oil & Gas, Chemical Industries, Pharmaceutical Industries etc.
• Provide consultancy to large-scale projects at all phases (preliminary studies, FEED, EPC, Commissioning, As-built studies etc.)
• Perform Risk Identification techniques, Risk Analysis and Risk Assessments for complex processes
• Perform audits of process safety management systems and propose risk mitigation and corrective actions
• Conduct Process Safety Studies, such as: Explosion Protection Documents (ATEX studies), Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOP), Major Accident Hazards studies (SEVESO), Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA), Loss Prevention studies, ALARP demonstration, Emergency Response Plans (ERP)

• MEng in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related sector
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in the Process safety sector
• Excellent knowledge of English & Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of AutoCAD design package
• Knowledge of software tools, such as Riskcurves and PHA-pro will be considered an asset
• Being familiar with Engineering drawings, PFDs and PIDs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations, time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines
• Advanced problem-solving skills, including analysis and decision making
• Results-driven: Consistently achieve results working independently or within a team, multitasking, and demonstrate high organizational and project management skills
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
• Working experience in an industrial environment will be considered an asset
