Finance & Accounting Specialist – Construction Company

About the Role:
We are a growing construction company looking for an experienced and reliable Finance & Accounting Specialist / Accountant to manage our financial and accounting operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with construction companies, contractors, suppliers, invoices, payroll, VAT, and project-related financial records.
You will work closely with management, project managers, suppliers, and our external accounting/tax advisors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting and financial transactions
- Prepare and monitor customer and supplier invoices
- Track payments, expenses, receivables, and payables
- Monitor project costs and construction expenses
- Maintain accurate financial records for each construction project
- Reconcile bank accounts and company transactions
- Prepare VAT and other required financial documentation
- Coordinate with external accountants and tax advisors
- Assist with payroll, employee payments, and subcontractor payments
- Monitor supplier and subcontractor balances
- Prepare monthly financial reports for management
- Track budgets, costs, and profitability of construction projects
- Ensure invoices and expenses are properly documented and recorded
- Support management with financial analysis and cash-flow planning
- Maintain organized digital and physical accounting records
Requirements:
- Proven experience in accounting or finance (experience in the construction industry is highly desirable)
- Good knowledge of Greek accounting and tax procedures
- Experience with invoices, VAT, payroll, suppliers, and payments
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience with accounting/ERP software
- Excellent attention to detail and organization
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Greek language required (English knowledge is an advantage)
