Main Purpose:

As a Time Charter Freight Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in the financial and operational management of our global fleet of time chartered and owned vessels. You will be the bridge between commercial operations and finance, ensuring financial integrity, monitoring voyage economics, and directly influencing shipping profitability.

In this fast-paced and highly impactful role, you will manage high-value reconciliations, resolve disputes, and provide actionable insights into voyage performance that inform strategic decisions. Your work will safeguard Trafigura’s financial interests, from meticulously reviewing charter party agreements to negotiating commercial disputes and analyzing profit and loss.

The role reports directly to the TC Freight Analysts Manager who is based in Athens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process internal recharges and invoices for accounting purposes
  • Prepare detailed voyage results reporting and analyze deviations from TCE (Time Charter Equivalent) and P&L estimates
  • Provide regular reporting to management on financial performance and outstanding issues

Department Overview:

  • Based in our Athens office, the department collaborates closely with Chartering (commercial strategy), Operations (vessel execution), Deals Desk/Risk Management (exposure monitoring), Claims (dispute resolution), and Accounting (financial reporting), while interfacing externally with shipowners, brokers, and counterparties to resolve payment queries, negotiate off-hire claims, and finalize hire reconciliations. This cross-functional role requires balancing commercial awareness with financial precision to ensure accurate, timely vessel-related financial transactions across multiple systems and stakeholders.
