Swissport is looking for an experienced and dedicated Health and Safety Manager for ensuring and maintaining that a business complies with health and safety regulations. Health and Safety Manager also monitor working conditions and the effective application of risk controls, including helping management to ensure that all employees follow the rules regarding safety and health. We are looking for someone proactive, with strong communication and analytical skills, to fill this role.
Duties and responsibilities
- Ensuring the highest safety compliance standards and a healthy workplace.
- Monitoring and staying updated on safety regulations, codes and standards applicable to the company and the industry.
- Have good knowledge of aviation industry, liaise with insurance companies or agencies, have understanding of environmental and sustainability legislation and consider this in the day-to-day activities.
- Supporting emergency readiness and response efforts, including developing evacuation plans and procedures.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to promote safety initiatives and ensure the integration of safety practices into daily operations.
- Setting KPIs and performing necessary reporting and auditing to the upper management.
- Conducting investigations into labor accidents.
- Developing and implementing health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with local laws and regulations.
- Monitoring health and safety performance, including collecting and analyzing incident statistics and information.
- Performing site visits and liaising with local stakeholders as necessary.
Requirements and skills
- University Degree.
- 5+ years of experience in a health and safety related role.
- Proficiency in health and safety auditing, inspection and identifying hazards.
- Well-versed in creating emergency response plans tailored to various scenarios.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to enforce health and safety procedures and protocols.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize daily workload and meet strict deadlines.
- Fluency in Greek and English.
- Motivated and goal oriented.
