As a Packaging Engineer your main responsibilities are:
- Design and develop packaging for new and existing products (primary, secondary, tertiary).
- Evaluate materials, designs, and suppliers to optimize cost, performance, and sustainability.
- Conduct packaging tests and document results.
- Ensure packaging complies with legal, safety, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with R&D, marketing, production, and procurement teams to align on packaging needs.
- Support packaging line trials and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain packaging specifications and BOMs (Bills of Materials).
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in packaging processes and materials.
The ideal candidate for the position of Packaging Engineer will be expected to possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 2–5 years of experience in industrial packaging development.
- Knowledge of packaging materials (plastics, paperboard, corrugated, films, etc.).
- Familiarity with CAD design tools and packaging test methods.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Awareness of sustainability and eco-design principles.
- Advanced English knowledge (oral and written).
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office; EPR Systems knowledge (preferably SAP) will be considered a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with expertise in managing teams and multiple tasks.
