Lawyer - Intellectual Property & Media Law

LMW, on behalf of its client, a leading cultural and public-interest organization based in Athens, is seeking a Lawyer to join its Legal Services, Compliance & Corporate Governance Department.

The Department manages all legal matters and cases related to the organization and ensures that its operations comply with applicable laws and regulations, safeguarding and protecting its interests.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Legal Services, Compliance & Corporate Governance and will contribute to the effective management and organization of the organization’s legal affairs. The role places particular emphasis on matters related to intellectual property, artistic collaborations and productions, event production, and digital media and services ("Areas of Specialization") 

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor legal developments and provide updates and guidance to employees and management, particularly in the Areas of Specialization.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage contracts and corporate documents, with emphasis on the Areas of Specialization.
• Develop initiatives related to the scope of the Department’s activities.
• Conduct legal research and provide comprehensive legal advice to employees and management.
• Identify legal risks, issues, and operational needs of the organization.
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with external legal advisors and consultants.
• Manage and participate in project teams.
• Liaise with competent public authorities.
• Represent the organization before courts and public authorities.
• Organize and manage incoming legal requests to the Department and coordinate actions across relevant operational areas.
• Contribute to the development of internal procedures related to the Areas of Specialization.

• Law degree from an accredited university.
• Postgraduate degree in one of the Areas of Specialization or a related field (preferred).
• At least 5 years of proven professional experience in the Areas of Specialization, either in the legal department of an organization or in a law firm with relevant practice.
• Strong knowledge of legal matters related to the Areas of Specialization.
• Significant experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and legal documents in the Areas of Specialization.
• Relevant litigation experience.
• Excellent command of Greek and English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of an additional foreign language will be considered an asset.
• Excellent use of MS Office, including advanced Word skills and very good knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
