Chief Accountant

Manpower on behalf of its client, a Manufacturing Company, leader in its field, is seeking for a highly motivated:  Chief Accountant - Thessaloniki.

Job Description

• General ledger accountability
• Maintaining accurate and up to date records of all financial transactions
• Ensuring the correctness of relevant book-keeping
• Perform month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries
• Coordinate with the team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines
• Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies
• Proactively performs preventive controls and initiates corrective actions when necessary
• Ensures adherence to company’s policies and procedures
• Responsible for preparing complete and accurate annual financial statements in accordance with Greek Accounting Standards
• Preparation of accurate, consistent and on time monthly management reports
• Delivering ad hoc reports as requested
• Preparing all tax declarations properly on time
• Being the contact person and establishing a good communication with the tax authorities
• Follow up new tax legislations that may have an effect on operation and informing the upper management when necessary
• Coordinate and supervise audits (tax audit and external)
• Preparation of monthly cash flows
• Processing payments and bank transfers
• Participation in the preparation of the yearly Budget
• Managing the process of achieving of documents according to legal requirements and company procedures
• Planning, assigning, directing work, and managing subordinate’s performance

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Master’s degree in accounting or Finance will be a strong plus
• At least 3 years’ experience as a Chief Accountant in a manufacturing company
• Excellent command / highly proficient in spoken and written English
• Public Accountant A’ level license from Economic Chamber
• Excellent knowledge in Tax laws and regulations
• Strong accounting background with sound knowledge of Greek Accounting standards (Law 4308/2014)
• Sound knowledge and experience with IFRS
• Very good knowledge of ERP accounting packages, preferably Entersoft
• Strong skills in Microsoft office tools and especially Excel Professional Competencies
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
