Finance Manager

BIOPIX-T, a biotechnology start-up in the field of diagnostics based in the Science and Technology Park of Crete (STEP-C), is looking a Finance Manager.

Job Description

As the finance manager, you will be acting in concert with the leadership team to model out business scenarios, build and track performance metrics, price new products and evaluate new opportunities. You will also oversee our accounting responsibilities and prepare budgets.

Responsibilities

• Work with the various business teams in establishing project budgets and forecasts for both short and long terms
• Adhere to and stay abreast of recent developments to relevant accounting and tax standards 
• Oversee the balance sheet reconciliations
• Produce monthly management accounts and own its process management documentation
• Uncover and drive process improvement opportunities
• Provide training and guidance for new members of the Finance team as it grows
• Define and track critical success metrics and KPIs of the business, collaborating with other divisions to address them.
• Build actionable reports and dashboards for wider distribution
• Run regular in-depth analysis of financials to gain key insights and ensure accuracy
• Work closely with the leadership team on strategy, roadmap, and targets for the business, and advise on hiring decisions and market opportunities 
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reporting for the Venture Capital funds that have funded the company
• Participate actively in the next financing round by supporting the investor relations with key financial deliverables and ad-hoc requests
• Liaise with banking institutions in Greece and abroad
• Determine optimum funding means for the financing of the expansion of the production
• Manage and secure receivables

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance or Engineering
• Familiarity with Greek and International Financial Reporting Standards
• An accounting accreditation (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) and/or an MBA would also be desirable
• Demonstrable commercial (and managerial) experience
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, specifically in Excel, macros, data analysis, and pivot tables
• Extensive financial statement modeling experience
• Experience of working with finance systems (e.g. SAP, SoftOne)
• Ability to problem-solve, both autonomously and within teams
• Approachable and confident personality type, comfortable within a wide range of organizational environments
• High integrity and natural desire to assume responsibility
