Payments Technical Project Consultant

Job Description:

• Coordinate payments projects and workstreams from initiation through delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives, milestones and agreed timelines
• Act as a trusted payments subject-matter partner, monitoring industry developments, business initiatives and technical announcements and assessing their potential impact and opportunities
• Collaborate with client-side Business Analysis, Development and Project Management teams, as well as internal stakeholders, to ensure effective coordination and timely delivery
• Monitor project milestones, deliverables, dependencies and risks, proactively identifying potential delays and supporting appropriate mitigation actions
• Monitor data integrity, operational performance and compliance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement
• Analyze performance and operational data to identify opportunities for process optimization, business growth and enhanced client outcomes
• Support day-to-day operational activities related to payments projects and initiatives
• Work closely with Client Services, Sales, Product and other internal teams to ensure alignment and contribute to overall client success
• Prepare clear reports, presentations and project updates for different stakeholder groups

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or equivalent subject
• 3–5 years of professional experience in the payments, banking, financial services or fintech industry, with proven exposure to payments-related projects
• Solid understanding of the end-to-end payments lifecycle, including transaction processing, issuing, acquiring and card scheme operations
• Knowledge of card schemes, digital payments and relevant payments regulations
• A formal project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2, is considered a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other business tools
• Fluency in English is essential
• Previous experience in project or program coordination, preferably within a client-facing, consulting or cross-functional environment
• Ability and willingness to work from the client's premises in Athens
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable recommendations
• Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, stakeholders and priorities in a structured and organized manner
