Περιγραφή

Position Title: Cultural Mediator / Farsi Interpreter
Location: Diavata Site, Thessaloniki
Reports to: SMS Manager
Length of Assignment: Until end of December 2017

As part of the Site Management Support team, the Farsi Interpreter, under the supervision of the SMS Manager will be responsible for the proper verbal or written communication between PoC, ASB team and other relevant stakeholders at the field level.

Key tasks and Responsibilities

Field:
- Support the SMS Manager at field level for managing and allocating all PoC’s requests on a daily basis;
- Assisting the communication between beneficiaries and staff and supporting the SMS Manager with beneficiaries follow up;
- Verbal interpretation and written translation which will support all the SMS daily activities or/and all ASB field staff; providing support to ASB staff with regards to technical labelling and documents in Greek and the relevant language;
- Together with the SMS Management team, ensure confidentiality of cases is respected at all times; quick to respond to requests and referrals and able to manage workload;
- Work closely with the Shelter and WASH Team, along with other actors of the field;
- Contributions to maintaining and strengthening ASB’s relations with the Farsi Community.

Partners:
- Upon request, support PSS, medical or legal interpretation with ASB partners.

Απαραίτητα Προσόντα

- Excellent verbal and written Greek and Farsi/Dari skills are required. Knowledge of English will be an asset;
- Training / Seminars on Interpretation Services and CoC;
- Previous working experience with local or international NGOs;
- High level of professionalism;
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, flexible and wide understanding of the community’s needs;
- Experience of working with PoC and in refugee camp setting.
- Strong commitment to humanitarian ethics

- Maintain confidentiality;
- While in the site, all ASB staff must wear appropriate ASB visibility.
