Culinary Arts Trainer

A non-profit educational organization, based in Athens, is seeking a Culinary Arts Trainer to design and teach structured short-term cycles of courses in culinary arts. The courses target vulnerable populations, refugees and migrants and will be held in Athens.

Duration of each courses cycle: 40-45 hours approximately.
Sessions: 3-4 hours at least twice per week
Course will be taught in English.

Requirements

• Teach safety and sanitation procedures and all hygiene and food quality standards of the industry
• Instruct students in state approved vocational curricular frameworks
• Teach hands on skills used in the various workstations within the kitchen
• Introduce students to related food industry occupations
• Develop and implement assessment strategies to evaluate and communicate student progress, interpret results and share progress reports with staff members
• Use engaging learning methods to challenge the abilities and skills of the students
• Support students in groups and individually towards completion of the project
• Collaborate with co-op coordinator to develop partnerships with local businesses in order to support the development of a progressive model of internships and co-op placements
• Make industry connections promoting service learning, cooperative education, and worked-based learning opportunities for the students.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Be consistent, dedicated & responsible
• Proven experience in Culinary Arts is a must
