IT Systems Engineer

The IT Systems Engineer position is full time and permanent, based in Piraeus area.

Responsibilities

As an IT Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the following core activities:

• Administering, monitoring, and troubleshooting physical and virtual server environments (80% Windows, 20% Linux) to maintain peak operational health.
• Managing VMware (vSphere/ESXi) virtualization platforms, Storage/SAN architectures, and robust DR/BCP backup and restore workflows.
• Overseeing core infrastructure services including Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, and utilizing PowerShell for IaC automation.
• Participate in IT projects—such as M365/Azure migrations (Exchange Online, SharePoint) and infrastructure refreshes.
• Utilizing ITSM tools for logging incidents and conducting thorough risk assessments to evaluate downstream impacts before applying system changes.
• Interfacing with cross-functional business departments, specialized network/security teams, and third-party vendors to resolve complex issues.

To qualify for the IT Systems Engineer position, you should possess:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Systems Administration and Infrastructure management within enterprise environments.
• Strong technical expertise across Windows Server, Active Directory, GPOs, VMware vSphere, SAN/Storage systems, and DR/BCP procedures. 
• Practical experience with PowerShell automation scripting alongside M365 and Azure cloud environments.
• Fluent English skills
• Degree in IT or a related field.
• Industry certifications such as VMware VCP, M365, or Microsoft Server Administrator are highly desirable.
