Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded Head of Procurement and Cost Control to oversee all aspects of procurement, purchasing, and cost management within our upscale restaurant and beach club. As the Head of Procurement and Cost Control, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and monitoring costs to maximize profitability while maintaining the integrity of our brand and guest experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to optimize purchasing processes, reduce costs, and ensure the quality and reliability of supplies and services.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules while maintaining strong relationships and adherence to quality standards.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of inventory levels, pricing, and expenditures, analyzing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with department heads and management to forecast and plan procurement needs, ensuring timely availability of supplies and resources to support operational requirements.
  • Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement cost control measures and monitoring systems to track expenses, identify variances, and take corrective action to achieve budgetary goals and targets.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement and cost control staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster their growth and professional development.
  • Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in procurement and cost management, continuously seeking opportunities to optimize processes and drive efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, supply chain management, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, CPM) preferred.
  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably within the hospitality or food and beverage industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to achieve favorable terms and pricing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, analyze trends, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and systems, as well as Microsoft Excel or other data analysis tools.
  • Leadership and management experience, with a track record of leading teams to achieve results and drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
