ASSISTANT HOUSEKEEPER
THE ROLE
The Assistant Housekeeper supervises and coordinates activities of room attendant, house attendant, public area cleaners and floor supervisors. He / She assists in the managing and directing of the day–to–day operations of all Housekeeping and laundry functions.
Responsibilities:
· Supervise the daily activities of the housekeeping staff, follow-up on delegated activities, verify rooms cleaned and update room status
· Obtains list of vacant rooms to be cleaned immediately & list of prospective checkouts or discharges in order to prepare work assignments.
· Run regular and random inspections on guest rooms, public areas, etc. to ensure quality standards are constantly met
· Assist the Executive Housekeeper in the preparation of timesheets, follow-up on actual hours worked by each team member and facilitate completion of any required paperwork
· Assigns team members their duties, and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
· Ensure personal cleanliness, personal appearance, uniform and other professional standards are met by all team members whilst acting as a role-model for them
· Respond to and follow through on guest requests, concerns and problems to the guest’s satisfaction.
· Facilitate good communication flow of information between swifts
· Ensure health & safety standards are respected by the team members
· Coordinate with the outside laundry to ensure that Room Linen/terry, guest clothing and staff uniforms are correctly processed and returned in a timely manner.
· Report any issues/hazards/discrepancies to the Maintenance Department and follow-up on progress of the required actions
