Job Overview: As a member of our Costing - Procurement Department, the Architect/Civil Engineer will play a crucial role
in ensuring accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for Interior construction
projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams to
analyze project requirements through drawings, technical descriptions and
relevant data and onsite inspections to provide detailed cost breakdowns
(BOQs). This position requires a combination of architectural or civil
engineering expertise and a deep understanding of construction costing
principles.
Key Indicative Responsibilities:
- Cost
Estimation:
Collaborate with project teams to develop accurate and detailed cost
estimates for construction projects, considering all relevant factors,
such as materials, labor, equipment, overhead and client requirements.
- Analysis
and Evaluation:
Conduct Budgeting (BoQ Files) through analysis and evaluation of project
specifications, drawings, and other documents. Communicate with suppliers
and subcontractors to collect offers. Conducting pre-measurements through
Autocad drawings
- Vendor
Negotiation:
Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and
negotiate favorable terms to maximize cost savings.
- Value
Engineering:
Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize costs without
compromising project quality or functionality.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with
cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, project managers,
and procurement specialists, to ensure seamless communication and
integration of cost-related information.
- Continuous
Improvement: Stay
abreast of construction practices and materials to continuously improve
the accuracy and efficiency of the costing process.
