We are currently looking for a Senior Category Specialist to join our Commercial team and report to our Category Manager.
Your role as a Senior Category Specialist:
As a Senior Category Specialist, you will lead our product team. By analyzing sales data, managing orders and stocks for your category, as well as building and maintaining relationships with our key suppliers, you will be responsible for providing pet parents with the best products that will meet our beloved pets’ needs. Your analytical thinking, forecasting, and strong communication skills, as well as your knowledge of pet products and sales principles, aligned with your love for pets, will help you stand out in this role!
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the product team by managing and developing this specific category and analyzing sales data to identify trends and opportunities
- Placing tactical orders to our suppliers to avoid stock-outs and overstocks aligned with the buying plan/budget
- Ensuring optimal stock levels and managing inventory turnover
- Coordinating with suppliers’ product selection, pricing, and promotion (evaluation / score of current product mix)
- Negotiating with the suppliers and suggesting annual promo plans
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers, as well as negotiating terms with them
- Implementing the key category/product refresh projects
- Creating merchandising guidelines for each category/store format/channel
- Constantly monitoring competitors for promos, pricing changes and suggest actions
- Leading and mentoring the Product Specialists team.
