Demso is an engineering and manufacturing company specializing in mechanical design, prototyping, and small-scale production.
We work on a variety of custom mechanical systems and electromechanical products, designed and built in-house.
The Role
We are looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to support product development and prototype manufacturing.
The role combines SolidWorks CAD work with hands-on assembly and testing in a workshop environment.
This is not a purely desk-based position.
What You Will Do
- Work daily in SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, drawings)
- Modify and maintain existing mechanical designs
- Prepare 2D drawings, BOMs, and STEP exports
- Operate 3D printers (FDM & resin) and post-process parts
- Assemble and test small mechanical or electromechanical products
- Assist in the design of new systems under guidance
- Follow strict file naming, revision, and folder rules
Required
- Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing / Mechatronics Engineering
- Good working knowledge of SolidWorks
- Ability to work with existing assemblies without breaking references
- Practical mindset and attention to detail
- Comfortable working on site
- Good English (technical communication)
Additional Requirements
- Experience with 3D printing
- Familiarity with CNC-machined parts
- Understanding of bearings, shafts, and mechanical assemblies
Shortlisted candidates will be invited on site to complete a practical SolidWorks test (≈75 minutes), focused on:
- safe modification of existing assemblies,
- creation of drawings and BOMs,
- correct file-system handling.
