ICAP Executive Search, on behalf of our client, a well-established FMCG company, is looking for an experienced Accountant. The selected candidate will report directly to the Country Mng and the Financial Mng and will be responsible for organizing, monitoring, and supervising the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Greek Accounting Standards (ΕΛΠ) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Accountant (Ref. 6069/A/ESS/GR)
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and review daily accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
- Record and analyze expense documents, supplier invoices, service fees, and employee expense reports.
- Perform bank, customer, supplier, and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with MyData processes, VAT submissions, withholding taxes, and all related statutory obligations.
- Participate in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate information flow to auditors.
- Develop, refine, and standardize accounting procedures to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and workflow effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with the controlling and finance departments on variance analyses, budgeting, and financial planning
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance or ACCA certification will be considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting.
- Excellent knowledge of Greek Accounting Standards (ΕΛΠ) and strong familiarity with IFRS.
- Proven experience working with ERP systems.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office applications.
- Very good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work under pressure.
- Team leadership skills and the ability to manage priorities effectively.
- Male candidates must have fulfilled their military obligations.
