ICAP Executive Search & Selection, on behalf of its client, a global shipping company, owning a fleet of bulk carriers and containers, is looking for an experienced professional for the position of:

                                                   Technical Superintendent (Ref. 5844/TS/ESS/GR)

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate reports to the Technical Manager and is responsible for the technical management of assigned vessels, ensuring their safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation while complying with all regulations.

More specifically:
  • Assists vessel crew with technical guidance, mentoring Chief Engineers, and monitoring lubricants and consumables.
  • Oversees vessel maintenance, including PMS updates, survey schedules, and certification validity.
  • Conducts vessel inspections and implements required adjustments.
  • Monitors and approves bunker plans, fuel analysis, and compliance with international regulations.
  • Plans and oversees vessel repairs and dry dockings ensuring cost-effective execution.
  • Manages OPEX budgets, procurement, and stock levels while ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Participates in accident investigations, emergency response teams, and crew performance evaluations.
  • Maintains vessel technical documentation, including records and compliance forms.

Απαραίτητα Προσόντα

Requirements:

  • Marine Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Chief Engineer in bulk carriers and/or containers is a must.
  • Previous experience as a Technical Superintendent in a shipping company.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, and PC literate.
  • Ability and willingness to travel abroad.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Problem solving, decision making and leadership skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, meeting demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks and under pressure.
  • Hard working with commitment to detail.
