Adecco is currently seeking on behalf of its client, one of the largest international fashion brands, for a dynamic professional to cover the following position: 

HR & Payroll Generalist


Job Description:

  • Collaborate with external payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate payroll execution
  • Process and validate payroll for all employees in compliance with legal and internal regulations
  • Prepare and report taxes, social contributions and other payroll-related obligations to authorities
  • Provide advice and support to managers in salary and benefits matters
  • Ensure compliance with laws, collective agreements and internal company policies
  • Keep up to date with legal and regulatory developments affecting payroll
  • Handle labour law issues and maintain contact with trade unions
  • Support managers in HR-related matters, including recruitment, onboarding and employee relations
  • Develop, implement, and improve HR policies and procedures
  • Maintain personnel files, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and GDPR compliance
  • Keep up to date with labour law, regulations and HR-related trends
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Health & Safety and other departments
  • Emphasize and promote a service-oriented culture across departments and stores
  • Organize and distribute work within HR and payroll functions
  • Maintain close cooperation with the HR department in Germany, employer associations and other external partners

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
  • Three (3) years of relevant working experience in HR and payroll administration, ideally in the Retail Industry
  • Practical experience in payroll processing, reporting to authorities and working with external payroll providers
  • Solid knowledge of Greek Accounting standards
  • Very good knowledge of the Greek legislation and financial systems
  • Familiarity with HR systems, timekeeping software and payroll applications
  • Proficient user of MS Office (particularly Excel) and HR/payroll tools
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required
  • German language skills are considered an advantage but not mandatory
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities and capacity to maintain positive employee relations
  • Team-oriented and service-minded, with a proactive and problem-solving approach
