Junior Category Manager 

Job description

• Assortment & Merchandising: Assist in category assortment planning; maintain item lifecycle (listing, delisting, replacements).
• Pricing & Promotions: Track competitor prices, propose price changes, and help set promo mechanics (flyers, bundles).
• Vendor Management: Prepare vendor scorecards, follow up purchase orders, support negotiations (payment terms, rebates).
• Inventory & Availability: Monitor sell-through, weeks of supply, overstocks/stock-outs; coordinate with Demand/Supply Planning.
• Analytics & Reporting: Create weekly dashboards (sales, GM, sellout KPIs).
• Omnichannel Execution: Ensure product content quality (titles/specs/images).
• Store Execution: Coordinate planograms and seasonal bays; validate compliance with store operations.

Candidate Profile

• 2–3 years of experience in Retail / FMCG / DIY, ideally in a commercial or product-related role (merchandising, buying, product management).
• Strong data analysis skills (Excel / Google Sheets: pivots, lookups; basic SQL/BI is an advantage).
• Understanding of core retail glossary (GM, sell-through).
• Commercial mindset; entry-level negotiation skills; ability to communicate effectively with suppliers.
• Shows initiative and responds promptly when action is needed.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in day-to-day tasks.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams (Stores, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing).
• Proactive, organized, and capable of working in a dynamic retail environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
