GIS Technician / Junior GIS Specialist

A GIS Technician / Junior GIS Specialist supports the creation, organization, and analysis of geospatial data, contributing to the proper operation and development of a company’s Geographic Information Systems. This role is an essential part of the GIS team, responsible for digitizing data, managing databases, and assisting in workflow automation, while continuously developing technical skills through real project experience.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Digitization of geospatial data and production of accurate mapping layers.
• Management, updating, and quality control of geospatial databases.
• Supporting GIS projects using ArcGIS Pro.
• Handling Mosaic Datasets and performing basic raster data management tasks.
• Using SQL for data queries, modifications, and quality checks.

Requirements and qualifications:

• Degree in computer science, engineering, geography or related field
• Knowledge of the ESRI suite products as ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap
• Knowledge of relational databases and advanced use of query languages such as SQL

Desired Skills

• Understanding and managing SDE/Enterprise Geodatabases.
• Experience with ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS is a plus.
• Knowledge of geospatial QA/QC procedures.
• Basic familiarity with Python for workflow automation (e.g., arcpy).
