Role Description
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Head of Logistics to join our team in Nea Santa, Kilkis. This is a full-time, on-site role
responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of logistics operations
across Movement, Inland Loading, and Import departments. The ideal candidate
will manage schedules, suppliers, transportation, and documentation, ensuring
efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance in the entire logistics chain.
Key Responsibilities
Movement Department
- Develop and manage the daily
delivery schedule for materials and customer orders.
- Coordinate with workshops for
vehicle maintenance and spare parts, including forklifts and company cars,
in partnership with trusted vendors.
- Oversee the issuance of vehicle
exhaust cards and maintain organized records and video documentation.
- Manage the dispatch and return
of tools/machinery for external inspection or repair. Record any issues,
liaise with partners, arrange transport, and track the entire repair
lifecycle.
Inland Loading Department
- Conduct market research for
domestic transport providers to ensure quality and competitive pricing.
- Request and compare transport
quotes, approve pricing, and schedule loading accordingly.
- Communicate with transport
companies to confirm loading dates and logistics requirements.
- Coordinate closely with the
person responsible for storage areas at all relevant locations to ensure
materials are ready and accessible.
- Ensure the availability of
handling equipment (e.g., forklift, crane) for efficient unloading and
internal transport to the factory.
Import Department
- Send purchase orders to
international suppliers and maintain order logs.
- Register foreign orders in the
company’s ERP system (SoftOne).
- Coordinate with the Accounting
Department for supplier payments and sending receipts.
- Maintain continuous
communication with international vendors to ensure timely and accurate
order fulfillment.
- Conduct research on
international transport solutions, assign carriers, and track shipments
through to delivery.
- On receipt, inspect goods and
assign them to the appropriate customer/project, ensuring accurate
documentation and internal distribution.
General Logistics Duties
- Monitor logistics KPIs, including
lead times, delivery accuracy, and cost per shipment.
- Maintain insurance records for
all work vehicles and ensure timely renewals and compliance with local
laws.
- Collaborate
cross-departmentally with production, procurement, and finance teams to
streamline logistics operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics,
Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of
experience in logistics or supply chain management.
- Strong understanding of
domestic and international transport regulations, customs processes, and
vendor management.
- Proficiency in ERP systems
(preferably SoftOne) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication,
negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with
the ability to work under pressure and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Familiarity with logistics
insurance and fleet management is a plus.
