ICAP Executive Search & Selection on behalf of its client, a leading manufacturing organization in the food industry is in search of a Head to lead the category of Value-Added Products.

Head of Value-Added Products (Ref. 5396/VAP/ESS/GR)

Reporting directly to the CEO Office, the Head of Value-Added Products has full P&L responsibility for the global Value-Added Product (VAP) business and leads the VAP cross functional team including sales, marketing, finance, supply chain, R&D and project management. The Head of VAP will be accountable for the fulfillment of the VAP Business Unit’s annual and strategic plan to defend and extend the current market position in the core VAP business, as well as expand into new opportunities. It will be this executive’s job to think beyond business as usual and stretch the company to grow in new directions that take advantage of core strengths.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver the VAP Business Unit’s Annual financial and Strategic plan, being fully P&L accountable, constantly upgrading the VAP market position together with maximizing the opportunity with the core VAP portfolio and identifying new growth opportunities to maximize results.
• Drive and co-ordinate executional excellence across VAP, ensuring the company is fully optimizing its vertically integrated model to drive growth and profitability. Ensure that the cross functional VAP team is operating efficiently and effectively in pursuit of its objectives. Provide critical linkage to all internal constituencies to ensure the VAP business plan and the strategic plan align with the organization’s overall vision.
• Deliver an Insights Centric VAP Portfolio Strategy that will deliver balanced (volume, $ sales, profit) growth. Partner with the cross functional VAP Leadership Team to architect a winning global VAP portfolio. Utilize market data, consumer research and insights, and competitive intelligence to identify new VAP opportunities to support existing products and identify and launch new products that will drive sales and new revenue streams for the company.
• Align the organization around a set of growth and optimization platforms including business case development and supply chain readiness to maximize VAP revenue and profit growth. Partner with key stakeholders to deliver robust innovation pipeline.
• Champion the new VAP Innovation Process to streamline and improve cross functional alignment, collaboration, and project management. Drive and coordinate cross functional execution across the VAP, ensuring the company is fully optimizing its vertically integrated model to drive growth and profitability. Establish the new ways of working for the VAP organization including the implementation of the stage gate process, portfolio management process and clear governance to ensure streamlined and agile decision making and add rigor and discipline to the company’s VAP processes.
• Foster strong customer relationships in collaboration with the Regional Sales Leaders and upgrade the customer engagement model and CRM process to continue to drive positive sales momentum on VAP.
• Lead Functional Development. Build and shape a highly effective, best-in-class VAP cross functional leadership team by hiring, training, motivating, and setting leadership direction. Define and nurture a collaborative and consumer-oriented culture. Provide outstanding leadership that inspires best in class innovation, making the entire company more consumer-centric.
• Become the organizational “glue” to deliver change. The GM VAP has a unique and critical role to play to deliver change. Leveraging deep insights into customer behaviors and market trends to motivate and drive the required changes through the organization.
• Serve as a key member of the Commercial Leadership Team, contributing to the ongoing short term and long term business planning process and being a champion of the company’s values and culture

Απαραίτητα Προσόντα

• Minimum of 15 years of cross functional management, marketing and/or sales management, marketing, and business development experience, including at least five years of recent senior-level management responsibility. He/she will have significant global work experience in the food industry, having exposure to multiple channels, to include retail, foodservice, QSR, and club, among others. Ideally, this person will bring recent experience carrying broad-based business unit and P&L responsibility.
• Strong financial acumen and proven expertise in creating and managing pricing strategies that contribute to meeting margin and profitability objectives.
• Solid experience in strategy development and execution, a demonstrated record of accomplishment in delivering results, and the ability to lead teams.
• Experience with CRM and ERP systems, driving performance through metrics.
• Passionate for collaboration, experienced in successfully managing multiple stakeholders in a global matrix context is required.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to approach business from a creative point of view.
• Ability to lead Organizational Transformation – demonstrated reputation for inspirational change across an organization and build a strong culture and management alignment throughout a company or across multiple divisions. Demonstrated creativity and agility in leading change.
