The Senior Designer is responsible for developing creative and design solutions throughout the full lifecycle of a project, under the supervision of the Creative Director.
Working across multiple projects simultaneously, the Senior Designer will be involved in research, concept development, ideation, design execution and production, ensuring that creative solutions meet both client expectations and project objectives.
The role also involves presenting creative work to clients at different stages of a project and building strong, trusted relationships with them.
Responsibilities
- Gain a thorough understanding of each client’s business, competitive environment, target audiences and key objectives.
- Translate client briefs and business objectives into strong, relevant and compelling visual concepts.
- Conduct research and develop creative concepts, brand directions and visual identities.
- Develop initial brand concepts and establish visual and aesthetic guidelines.
- Lead the design development of mid- to large-scale projects from initial brief through to final delivery.
- Work across branding, corporate communications, campaigns, editorial, digital and other visual communication projects.
- Present creative work to clients and confidently explain design rationale and creative decisions.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Estimate project scope, timelines and required design hours in collaboration with the Creative Director and project team.
- Prepare artwork and technical specifications for print and production.
- Review and approve final artwork, colour proofs, prototypes and production files.
- Collaborate closely with the Creative Director, account/project managers, copywriters, developers, photographers, illustrators and external production partners.
- Stay up to date with the latest design trends, tools, technologies and production techniques.
Qualifications & Experience
- BA, BFA or equivalent professional experience in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience, preferably within a branding, design or creative agency.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating excellent conceptual thinking, typography, layout and visual design skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
- Basic knowledge of Adobe After Effects and an interest in motion design.
- Strong understanding of print production, prepress and production specifications.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation and problem-solving skills.
