Our in-house development team ensures we lead the way in providing the most innovative booking experience in the travel industry. We empower travel agents by providing them with a huge portfolio of products, including over 250,000 hotels and apartments, 5,500 activities and reliable transfer services. Our intuitive and efficient booking tool enables our travel agents to provide the very best service to their clients.

About the Role

Due to strong growth and a rapidly expanding suite of products and services, an exciting opportunity has become available for a highly talented, dynamic and innovative Test Automation Engineer to join our exceptional global team within our Athens office. As a Test Automation Engineer, you will be involved throughout the development lifecycle of Excite Holidays backend development team with emphasis on development and implementation of test automation. You'll be involved in the creation of business requirements inputting the test scripts and test scenarios to ensure developers understand the business requirements so that they can be effectively tested. You will be working closely with developers as they develop code to ensure requirements are being met and to the correct quality, and you will conduct automated (and manual tests where necessary) to ensure the software created is fit for purpose. During testing you will be thinking “outside of the box” to understand the various scenarios and you will be responsible for defining and driving innovative automated testing strategies and toolsets into our overall development processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of cross functional, passionate agile project teams to ensure quality is driven into the heart of the development process from requirements definition through to delivery
• Designing, developing and supporting frameworks for our test infrastructure and providing automation expertise to our development teams
• Contributing toward predictable delivery of quality releases
• Research, recommend and implement tools as needed with the goal of increasing automation
• Mentor team members on automation
• Proactively bringing issues and problems to the attention of the team; generating, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to solve them
• Be meticulous about documentation and maintaining a robust log of all test cases and test results
• Ensure that all tests are executed and give regular feedback to the team lead on the status of quality
• Use appropriate measures and KPIs to validate and report on software quality
• Have the drive to become an expert in: Unit testing, UX Testing, UI Testing, Integration testing of APIs, Performance & scalability testing, Penetration Testing

The Successful Candidate

• 2 years of previous working experience in a similar position
• Experience in writing, executing and monitoring automated test suites with tools like Selenium
• Proficient with bug tracking and test management toolsets to support development processes
• Automation deployments using Ansible
• Knowledge about Linux
• Understanding of coding enterprise applications within Java, PHP or Python
• Fluent in English (both verbal and written) with outstanding communication and listening skills is essential
• A motivated and highly energetic team player
• Lifelong learner - thrives from developing and sharing knowledge
• A highly analytical and critical thinker with excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
• Able to prioritize quickly and effectively with strong time management skills
