Qualifications
• A degree in Law (LL.B) or in a relevant field. Post-graduate studies (LL.M, M.Sc.) will be considered a plus
• 2-4 years of experience in a law firm or as in-house counsel, at least 1-year experience in data protection
• Solid knowledge of global privacy laws (such as GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, CCPA)
• Decent knowledge of IT concepts, such as cybersecurity, networks operations, cloud computing and emerging technologies (blockchain, IoT etc.)
• Proficient use of MS software (Office, Outlook, etc.)
• Proven ability to communicate with others at all levels, including the company’s management, customers, suppliers and business partners, whether in writing or orally, individually or to a large audience
• Ability to work well within a team and persuade others
• Proven commitment to the highest standards of quality of work, preciseness and attention to detail
• Strong adaptability, leadership, entrepreneurial and commercial abilities
• Strong organizational and communication skills
Major Challenges for this Position:
• Understanding the data relevant risks in the shipping industry
• Performing legal assessments, reviewing contractual clauses and negotiating with third parties
• Communicating with different stakeholders on a daily basis
