ICAP Executive Search on behalf of its client, a leading multinational manufacturing company in Thessaloniki region, is seeking:
Chief Accountant (Ref. 6258/CAO/ESS/GR)
The Chief Accountant will report to and work closely with the Finance Manager and will be responsible for monitoring the functions of the Accounting Department (3 direct reports-Accountants).
Main Tasks:
- Will be responsible for general ledger accountability, by overseeing the accounting operations of the company
- Supervise and allocate the work of the accounting team to ensure that all tasks are completed within prescribed timescales
- Prepare complete and accurate annual financial statements in accordance with Greek Accounting Standards
- Responsible for the execution and control of the monthly and yearly inventory counting
- Perform controls in all month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations, provisions and journal entries ensuring the correctness of relevant book-keeping
- Responsible for all tax declarations and all tax issues, as well as for the preparation of the monthly payment plan
- Support Finance Manager in cost control management and annual Budget process
- Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentation
- Responsible for the monthly management report (full set of financial statements and notes to the accounts). Deliver ad hoc reports, as requested
- Develop and maintain internal controls, an effective accounting system and policies and procedures
- Respond to accounting inquiries from management
