Senior Buyer

The position is responsible for the domestic and international procurement of production raw materials and fabricated materials to support production and sales demand of the manufacturing facility in Drama, Greece.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing of new Vendors and Vendor Qualification, including Vendor Auditing and Contract finalization
• Frequent tendering and negotiations for new material in new projects, as well as existing materials in line with Raycap annual targets on Continuous Cost Reduction
• Continuous Vendor Management, Vendor Development and actively managing the Vendor Portfolio
• Regular alignment with R&S and Sales and new product developments, changes to material requirements, item or material specifications, new or existing sources of supply, recommendations for reduced procurement, etc.
• Supporting Material Requirement Planning in SAP
• Inventory Level Planning and Controlling:
• In-house inventory target level development – Days-of-supply, total value – and to be monitored
• Regular alignment with R&D, Sales and Finance on Portfolio changes and Product Lifecycle changes, with respect to the impact on inventory
• Purchase Order Placement, confirmation, and fulfillment monitoring
• Consultation with Production, R&D and Sales on material availability

Required academic background, knowledge, and experience:

Bachelor’s degree, Master’s or technical degree is a plus
5-7 years international purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment including operational material planning, preferable within a technical business environment
Advanced to Expert knowledge of SAP and MRP systems
Good Knowledge of relevant Quality Management System, min ISO9001
International business and contract management experience
Intercultural experience with European, Asian and US vendors
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
Business English skills, oral and written; working knowledge of basic accounting
Ability to travel approximately 20-30%
