Responsibilities
The Hydraulic Engineer will be involved in projects related to water supply, drainage networks, sewage networks and flooding.
- Will cooperate with daily workflow of staff in the department, including the scheduling, assignments, etc
- Provide constructive and timely project evaluations
- Will be involved in hydraulic projects, which may include review and improvements to water supply and drainage systems.
- Will be involved in field studies of existing hydraulic facilities; ensures the collection of the correct information
- Conducts field studies for projects; identifies strategies to resolve problems and concerns
- Designs hydraulic systems; planning new networks and hydraulic facilities
- Uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to create blueprints for water and sewage control facilities
- Determines appropriate materials and equipment for projects and facilities including pumps, pipes, conduits, etc.
- Prepares and manages project budgets and ensures that projects are completed within budget
- Performs other duties as required.
