Full Stack Web Developer

Job Description
The University of Nicosia seeks a Full-Stack Developer who will assist in in-house software developments, suggest new features, implement and support applications.

Responsibilities

• Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices including source code management techniques
• Assist in maintaining, expanding, and scaling existing software and several websites the Intelligent Web Development team undertakes
• Assist in software and websites’ testing procedure at staging environment
• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
• Assist in creation of website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS/JS practices
• Develop and maintain software documentation.
• Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
• Monitor and improve website performance optimization techniques
• Any other relevant to the Organization’s needs duties as assigned by the IT Head

Academic Qualifications

• BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other relevant areas.
• An MSc degree will be considered as an advantage.

Job-specific skills

• Good Knowledge of Microsoft .Net(C#), CSS, JS, NodeJS and HTML .
• Good Knowledge of Database technologies – relational and NoSQL
• Good Knowledge of End-User WEB interface libraries and frameworks (Angular, React, etc.)
• Good Understanding of Middle Layer applications and interfaces (REST, SOAP, XML, JSON)
• A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
• Good Knowledge of Source Code Management techniques – Git, Mercurial, SVN, etc.
• Good understanding of Project Management processes.
• Having a good sense of design will be considered as an advantage
• Problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills
• Experience optimizing web pages for optimal speed and responsiveness
• Knowledge of performance metrics and web performance tools

Additional Qualifications that will be considered as advantageous:

• At least 2 years of experience of a member of Software Development team.
