Some of your responsibilities as sommelier:

• Provide wine service to guests in the store.
• Work in a station designated by the owner and follows the daily schedule.
• In addition to serving wine, duties include the restocking of the wine cellar on a daily basis.
• Ensure personal appearance, personal hygiene are at all times in accordance with the company policy.
• Should be knowledgeable about the wine list and able to discuss and suggest wines to guests who ask for advice. The knowledge of how to pair wine with food is imperative.
• Have a clear understanding of the company’s service standards.
• Apply sales techniques in order to achieve maximum sales.
• Must be able to reach reasonable and attainable sales targets set by the company. This requires self-confidence and commitment to the sales goals.
• Must have full knowledge of the cashier in order to process all transactions accordingly.
• Duties include the cleaning and sanitizing of his/her working area and working utensils following hygiene rules and regulations and all times.
• Attend meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required.

Before applying for the position of sommelier, make sure you have the following qualifications:

• Previous relevant experience.
• WSET Level 2 or WSPC Level 3.
• To be willing to work a flexible schedule to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks.
• Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years beverage-related experience.
