Due to strong continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for Purchasing Officer Assistants to join the MCTC team and play an important role in the company's expansion plan.
As a Purchasing Officer Assistant, you‘ll be responsible for:
- Informing the Fleet Supervisor of any non-conformity noted and proposing relevant corrective and preventive actions.
- Informing the Fleet Supervisor about, and handling, complaints and discrepancies between vessels and suppliers.
- Reviewing and analyzing the vessels Requisition.
- Preparing and processing requisitions and purchase orders for supplies, ensuring proper controls are met including budgetary approval, competitive bidding, debarment/suspension checks, code of conduct requirements.
- Evaluating vendor’s quotation to ensure that they are in line with the requested specifications.
- Evaluating supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time and best prices and ensuring all the criteria are met according to the organizational requirements and expectation.
- Monitoring the quality of victualling services delivered on board and ensuring that these meet/exceed the clients and the Master’s expectations.
- Maintaining costs and budgets control and produce expenditure reports quarterly for each vessel.
- Evaluating offers received from various suppliers based on preset criteria.
- Processing forwarding inquiries to various forwarders or agents, investigate cost, transit / clearance time at various ports.
- Final checking of invoices.
- Forwarding company’s requirements regarding environmental matters to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Receiving and reviewing environmental statements from contractors / suppliers.
- Monitoring environmental issues associated with the activities of the Department.
- Performing any other ad-hoc duties as required by the Fleet Supervisor or Director of Global Operations.
