ICAP Executive Search & Selection on behalf of its client, Thermoilektriki Komotinis (Motor Oil/GEK TERNA JV), is looking for a driven procurement professional for the position of the Head of Procurement.

Role Overview:
Thermoilektriki Komotinis is a joint venture company between Motor Oil Hellas and GEK TERNA. Established in 2021, TK is constructing a new modern Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Plant fueled with natural gas, located in the industrial area of Komotini.
Being one of the largest investments in the Greek Energy market, the power plant will be commissioned for commercial operation in the summer of 2024 supporting by this way the stability of the Greek energy system.
Currently, TK is looking to enhance the Head Offices team and is seeking for a well qualified Procurement Head to join their team.
As the Head of Procurement, you will devise and refine procurement and sourcing strategies to ensure the timely, accurate, and cost-efficient delivery of required materials and services for the plant and the company, driving the execution of all operational activities related to procurement. You will be located in Athens Head Offices and report directly to the Finance Manager.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop the procurement plan in accordance with the company’s business requirements and forecasted demands across all sourcing areas (Direct, Indirect and Services).
- Devise and refine the procurement strategy and be accountable for its proper implementation. Introduce new procurement policies and processes or updates existing ones as needed.
- Facilitate the timely and accurate execution of the procurement plan (from acquisition to receipt of goods and services) while maintaining the control of procurement budget and ensuring conformity with the Procurement Standards, as defined by respective policies and processes.
- Monitor contract management, negotiate contract terms with vendors/subcontractors, create and track contracts between businesses and their suppliers or vendors and facilitate the resolution of claims/complaints to ensure resolution.
- Maintain and strengthen the relationship with existing strategic vendors and continually examine the local/regional market for new partners.
- Collaborate with the Business units to understand needs and evaluate vendors’ proposals, ensuring their ability to meet these needs to deliver the most efficient and cost-effective solutions, as well as perform administration activities (i.e. Purchase Order creation, uploading contracts in the system etc.).
- Ensure that purchasing policies and processes are in place to meet business objectives, identify gaps or any other emerging needs and propose improvements.
- Contribute to the development of procurement related performance and reporting tools to provide insights and recommendations to Management.
