MED SEA HEALTH S.A. is looking to recruit for its 5* Miraggio Thermal Spa Resort in Paliouri, Kassandra, Halkidiki, for the season of 2019:

The role

The Chief Steward manages the stewarding operation throughout the hotel’s kitchens, via providing supervision and training to the stewards and via controlling and maintaining high levels of sanitation as per the hotel’s standards and the HACCP requirements.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Is responsible for the overall supervision of stewarding personnel, for supervising the dishwashing process, the cleaning of stipulated areas and equipment, for ensuring that the refuse disposal and the maintenance of operating supplies is undertaken efficiently, timely and to a high level of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ensures that local & hotel’s standards of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation are maintained.
• Ensures refuse is placed in proper container & is disposed of promptly and hygienically.
• Determines that adequate operating supplies are available and in good condition.
• Initiates requisitions for operating & cleaning supplies.
• Liaises closely with the executive chef regarding requirements of operational supplies.
• Conducts weekly kitchen inspections.
• Takes inventories as stipulated at least on quarterly basis.

Candidate profile

• Very good command of the Greek and English language
• High-school education is required, degree in Hospitality/Tourism is desirable
• Computer literate
• Minimum 4-5years’ experience in a similar role within large hotels or restaurants
• Familiar with ISO and HACCP standards
• Very good organisational, numerical, time-management and leadership skills
• Proactive, able to work efficiently under pressure
