Head of Livelihood program

Odyssea A.M.K.E (A Non-Profit Non-Governmental Organization based in Athens - Greece) seeks a Head of Livelihood program, in order to ensure the realization of the Organization’s strategic goals through the effective management and monitoring of Livelihood activities. We are looking for a qualified person who will play a key role for the successful achievement of our existing and future projects with a special focus on connecting vulnerable and excluded groups and communities, to realistic job opportunities and leading to new roles in the future labour market. The overall goal is to empower people to increase their self reliance and raise their absorption within existing and future markets.

Responsibilities:

  1. He/She is responsible for the identification of talents amongst our beneficiary pools, the design and implementation of projects which aim to improve their livelihood opportunities.
  2. Monitors our beneficiaries that have completed their training courses, assists them in accessing job opportunities and places special focus in facilitating their transition into the labour market and follows-up their career paths. 
  3. He/She will be responsible for maintaining and improving Odyssea’s impact performance metrics of assisting an annual average of 18% of our trained beneficiaries with quality job positions within the labour market. 
  4. Ensures the efficient execution of the current work plan, as well as, the timely delivery of corresponding tasks, narratives, donor reports and working packages. This consists in defining the goals and implementing the processes, policies, for the effective achievement of the Odyssea impact goals. 
  5. Acting proactively, he/she gathers and interprets required information from any available source and builds on the appropriate databases in order to ensure the regular flow of the data needed for the effective achievement of the Livelihood programs.
  6. Develops and cultivates strong professional relationships with private sector companies, labor market institutions, key partners and other organizations, such as NGO’s, economic development agencies, governmental organizations, e.t.c. 
  7. Represents Odyssea’s in partnership meetings with stakeholders, as needed.
  8. Leads the technical design of new proposals in livelihoods based on emerging livelihood needs.
  9. He/She is responsible for the preparation of content for communication material and presentations to stakeholders and third parties.
  10. Carries out any additional Odyssea assignments as required.




Απαραίτητα Προσόντα

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • University degree in Social Sciences, Human Resources, Economics, or equivalent.
  • Current residency in Greece and work authorization for Greece required.
  • Excellent knowledge of English language written and oral is required; proficiency in other languages will be considered as a plus.
  • At least 2-4 years of experience in similar position preferably in humanitarian organization.
  • Strategic thinking capacity. Adaptation skills, ability to work in a multicultural environment, self-directed, resourceful and flexible. 
  • Technical expertise in sustainable livelihoods, local economic development, technical vocations, or related fields. Previous experience in recruitment job positions is considered a plus. 
  • Provide timely advice of actual or expected changes in the project environment that impact on the relevance of plans, timeframes or expected achievements.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities, to work to deadlines, being well-organised and systematic.
  • Proficiency in the usage of software packages which facilitate the execution of program work.
  • Ability to understand financial information and budgets.
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team setting.
  • Excellent multitasking, time management, critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills with ability to make sound judgment in rapidly changing contexts.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and service-oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience and a sense of humor, and ability to work well under pressure while juggling multiple tasks simultaneously, are required.
